Perfectly conical volcano at the southern tip of Kyushu, known as Satsuma Fuji.
Mt. Kaimon (924m) is a strikingly symmetrical volcanic cone at the southern tip of Kyushu, often called "Satsuma Fuji" for its resemblance to Mt. Fuji. The trail spirals around the mountain in a unique corkscrew pattern, passing through subtropical forest before emerging at a rocky summit with 360-degree views of the East China Sea, Kagoshima Bay, and the distant islands of Yakushima and Tanegashima.
